AOTD: Miracles and Science

Here you go.

I'm not much of a believer in miracles of course, but I'm strangely agnostic on several other subjects (like the supernatural in general). This probably comes from a combination of things: being interested, but not highly educated in the sciences (undergraduate physics really doesn't much count), my background in christianity and foreground in skepticism, and a general love of fiction. It sure WOULD be neat if unicorns existed / there is life after death / I won the lottery.

i think my sister feels the same way you do. she has been an atheist since birth, like me...but she is in nursing school now. after being around death she said to me that it is sad to think after a horrible death thats it. she said she knows there is no heaven, but for the sake of the families she wants there to be something. it was strange to hear her say that. not quite the same as unicorns, but i can relate.

Well, you know, unicorns are just sort of an example. On further reflection, they're a good deal further down on the list than life after death....
